Page 1

Here's the first page. I had to re-draw the first couple of panels, my initial attempt was pretty awful due to so much time away from the board. But happy enough with this attempt, looks a bit closer to the version in my mind's eye.

That's great, particularly like the lack of spotted blacks on the first two panels, really pushes them back into the distance. Also the general cinematic 'swoop' effect as we close in on the soldiers is very effective.

Cheers Tom. Yeah, I guess that's deliberate, want the book to feel pretty cinematic and 'filmic'. The wide panels probably lend themselves to that tone too, almost 'letterbox'format.

I love the cinematic feel of this page, it pulls you in and makes me want to turn the page to see what's gonna happen. I guessing that's a good thing!
